  2. Jeff only released one proper album, but he left a lot of extra material, hence this best of. As my title says, the majority of the Grace album is included here, though some tracks in an alternate form. The other songs pulled from live and unreleased sessions. I only ever owned Grace myself, so there's songs here that made this a good purchase /5(60).
  3. The overwhelming positive reviews of this album here are justified. Grace is a fantastic and timeless album. Jeff Buckley is another of those lost too soon artists that make you wonder what more he could have done had he still been with us. All of the songs are well written and this album still sounds fresh 20 years after it was recorded/5(K).

  6. Aug 23,  · I learned about Jeff Buckley from one of those " albums you must hear before you die" books. The review on this album contrasted Jeff Buckley's angelic voice and intellectual rock with the sometimes heavy-handed grunge that was popular at the time. It is too sad that he died so young. I think he could have had one of the greatest careers ever/5(K).
  7. Jeff Buckley was many things, but humble wasn't one of them. Grace is an audacious debut album, filled with sweeping choruses, bombastic arrangements, searching lyrics, and above all, the richly textured voice of Buckley himself, which resembled a cross between Robert Plant, Van Morrison, and his father Tim. And that's a fair starting point for his music: Grace sounds like a Led Zeppelin album written by 10/
  8. Jeff Buckley sounds like a man who doesn't yet know what he wants to be, and his uncertainty is the very thing that holds Grace, his debut album, together. It's a ballsy kind of uncertainty, the kind you find in star high-school athletes who seem to have all the confidence in the world even as they're straining to meet their own ever-increasing.
